Samenvatting
In this paper, the growing use of computer aided dispatch, mobile data, cellular telephones and vehicle location systems in the broad area of traffic safety is discussed. Uses of mobile communications technology in Canada, for traffic safety include: the reporting of traffic conditions; emergency telephones on major routes; safety campaigns have been held to encourage the safe use of mobile phones by drivers. The french title of this paper is `Technologies des communications mobiles et sécurité publique'. The german title of this paper is `Die mobile Kommunikationstechnologie und die öffentliche Sicherheit'.
