The Dutch Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management is very interested in the effects of more flexible work patterns on mobility. Not only are these effects unknown, but also the direction of these trends are unknown. Will mobility and/or car mobility increase or decrease as a consequence of flexible work patterns? At this moment, these effects are not being monitored. The goal of this study was to establish the use of such a monitoring. The conclusion is that it is very useful to set up the monitoring. The Ministry should not do this alone but should work together with other Ministries like Economic Affairs, and Social Affairs and Employment. (A)
