Samenvatting

Mobility Management: old wine in new bottles? The Dutch government has built up some years of experience in influencing traveller's behaviour. The governmental approach seemed to be too rigid and much focused on guiding the travellers. On the other hand the measures were too soft and did not yield enough results. At this moment the new policy of mobility management is being developed as a continuation of the old policy. Market forces and decentralised government are major partners in bringing this policy into practice. In this paper the way the policy of mobility management has to be set up is discussed. The private sector and decentralised government are the key players in executing the new policy. The question is how the national mobility management policy has to cope with the development of markets and with the decentralised government policy? (Author/publisher)
