Samenvatting

The visually impaired person is often hindered from using public transport because of the difficulties involved in getting from home to a bus-stop, underground stations etc. Problems dealt with are 1. the public transport system has stops which are too far from each other 2. pedestrian crossings with traffic-lights seldom have aural signals 3. bicycle and moped traffic on footpaths create fear and 4. traffic noise is so intense as to make aural orientation impossible.
