Samenvatting

EIectronic road pricing (ERP) is a world-wide accepted means to improve accessibility. With the publication of the MobiMiles report of R. Pieper (2001), the Netherlands finally reached this stage as well. And then, they apply it to the entire road network, the urban networks included. This opens unexpected possibilities for large and medium-sized cities, which have to deal with access problems and lack of space. However, legal conditions have to be met to create room for policy measures in this field. In this paper, the authors report the results of an exploration in the city of Enschede of the introduction of ERP combined with parking fees or so-called 'length of stay' fees. They link this concept to the MobiMiles report and the accompanying legislation which is being prepared at this stage. (A) For the covering abstract of the conference see ITRD E206647.
