This paper aims at illustrating the main concepts of scenarios, traffic models and real situations. The starting point is the definition of what is a scenario and its different kinds, namely operative, applicative and test. After this step, a link with the task-analysis has been pointed out and based on these statements a presentation of the main approaches concerning the traffic models is done. Particular attention is given to the description of the environment model surveyed in AIDE Integrated Project and called Driver-Vehicle-Environment model, highlighting how to represent real situations and the primary features of driving scenario, as well as considering the basic criteria and strategies for detection.
