Two problems in the field of traffic and transport management are described. First the long period between the moment a problem in traffic or transport arises, and the moment the problem is solved. Second the equity of traffic and transport policies are discussed. Interest groups whose stakes are influenced in some way by a policy rule will delay the implementation of this policy. Two suggestions are made to improve this situation. The first suggestion is to connect the monitoring of traffic and transport with policy making and implementation. The second suggestion advocates the compensation of unequal division of costs and benefits.
