This guide serves to prove the effectiveness of wildlife crossings that were created as part of the economic stimulus package for the recovery connectivity of habitats at existing federal highways. It was created on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development by a working group of the Bund-/Länder-Dienstbesprechung 'Landscape Management and Nature Conservation in Road Construction', under the auspices of the Federal Highway Research Institute, Unit 'Environmental Protection', with the participation of external experts.
