Motivational measures to increase traffic safety among 400 professional drivers were implemented in two different departments of the Norwegian Post Transport Centre in Oslo. The activities included a) a collective reward contingent upon accident reduction; b) bulletin boards with monthly accident statistics; and c) group discussions. The drivers filled in a questionnaire before and after the intervention period. Accident rate (per million vehicle kilometre) was analysed for the intervention period as well as for a base line period.
