The motor car and the territorial aggression thesis: some aspects of the sociology of the street.

Some of the reasons for the relative neglect of sociologists to study or give emphasis in their analysis to transport systems and, in particular, to social interaction in the social conduit of the street are outlined. Some of the sociological factors relating to the behaviour of different types of road users in the Greater Manchester area are presented.
