Samenvatting

This is one of the serious studies of safety in motor racing. It is divided in 3 parts. Part one embraces the essential anatomy, physiology and psychology of the human being who races motor cars. Part two describes in detail how this human goes about the task and copes with the various stresses inherent in motor racing. Part three is concerned with the daily well-being of the racing driver at home and overseas and with the darker side of motor racing: accidents, their consequences and the protection of the human from their effects.
