Samenvatting

The most effective way of bringing a motorcycle to a stop has been the subject of some controversy. The physics of the situation is clear: maximum friction and minimum stopping distances are obtained when a brake is applied to the maximum extent possible without causing the wheel to lock. However, straight line braking and braking in a curve involve somewhat different issues and need to be addressed separately.
