Samenvatting
A traffic surveillance and control system, in operation along 200 kilometers of the Dutch busiest motorways, make use of optical displays mounted on gantries over the roads, and inductive sensors embedded in the road surface. Sensor output is fed to computers which are controlled by algorithms to produce instructions shown on the overhead displays.
