Samenvatting

A simulation-based multi-class day-to-day stochastic assignment (MDSA) model and solution algorithm are developed in order to reflect the driver's daily route choice behavior according to the traffic information. Driver's route choice mechanism is based on the past experience of the road traffic conditions that they took on previous days. A numerical example is presented to illustrate the application and assessment of the developed MDSA management model. The results of this paper show that the effect of provision of traffic information exists under the condition of proper demand, compliance with information, and the variation of travel time perception.
