Samenvatting

Multidimensional scaling is a branch of multivariate data analysis geared towards dimensional reduction and graphical representation of data. This book gives a concise account of multidimensional scaling, giving the theory and illustrations of the various techniques from a neutral standpoint. It includes chapters on classical scaling, nonmetric scaling, Procrustes analysis, correspondence analysis, unfolding, individual difference model, and other m-mode, n-way models. Included with the book is a diskette containing computer programs which will give the reader the opportunity to try out some of the scaling techniques. (A)
