Samenvatting
This article views multi-modal passenger transport from the transport system analysis angle. It presents seldom-heard arguments in favour of multi-modal transport service systems, especially at agglomerative and regional level, and it explore the relevant necessary transportation and spatial preconditions. What is emphasised is how important efficient multi-modal transport is to the maintaining of attractive urban climates and the creating of cities that are able to realise their potential as centres.
