Samenvatting

Multivariable manual compensatory tracking experiments were carried out in order to determine typical strategies of the human operator and conditions for improvement of his performance if one of the visual displays of the tracking errors is supplemented by an auditory feedback. It is conluded that the auditory feedback unloads the visual system of the operator who can concentrate on the remaining exlusively visual displays.
