Samenvatting

The adoption of a consistent approach to traffic control at work sites potentially has significant benefits to road users, road authorities and road contractors. A review of the legislation and traffic control at work sites documentation for each state and territory and comparing them with AS1742 Part 3: Guide to traffic control devices for works on roads, identified many issues that require consideration before a consistent national approach can be implemented. Strategies have been prepared to guide Austroads and member agencies in a way forward to developing a national approach. This report provides an overview of the project method, findings and issues as well as key strategies developed after workshop consultation with state road authority representatives for consideration of Austroads.
