Samenvatting

In Norway, the work on multimodal travel information services is based onARKTRANS, the national framework architecture for multimodal ITS. ARKTRANS is harmonized across all transport modes, and arranges for services supporting all phases of the door-to-door travel. This paper describes the process towards such services and how they are enabled by ARKTRANS. Due to ARKTRANS, the experience gained in prototypes providing new and improved travel information services can be harmonized and transferred into generic knowledge that is utilized in a national travel planner as well as in regional and local travel planners. Stakeholder involvement, use of existing solutions and iterative evolvement of services are described as well as the use of the architecture. For the covering abstract see E134653.
