Samenvatting
Since the middle of the seventies there has been an increasing demand for trolley buses. However, many cities hesitate due to the necessary investments. There is a lot of development in progress around the world with the aim of finding better solutions to economic and technical problems. This development has resulted in several hybrid bus systems, such as trolley/diesel, trolley/battery and trolley/flywheel. With the aim of substantially reducing the investments for supplying energy to the vehicles a study is carried out in Sweden for a trolley flywheel hybrid bus. A system like this permits an interrupted overhead wire network.
