Samenvatting

Transportation in Mongolia is not sufficient to meet the requirement for modernization of the country. To improve it, a huge amount of construction of infrastructure is necessary. Its cost is many times larger than citizens can bear. We need a new method of transportation in Mongolia. The necessary items of the new method are a) high speed to cover a large area of the land, b) low cost without a large scale of infrastructure and c) easy to operate, repair and maintenance. Wing-In-Surface-Effect craft is a hopeful method of transportation. It can fly at 1-3 m altitude at a speed of 150-400 km/h. The present authors started a joint project between Japan and Mongolia to realize a Wing-In-Surface-Effect craft in Mongolia, being financially supported by the Heiwa-Nakajima Foundation. They report the present state of their study. For the covering abstract see ITRD E128680.
