Samenvatting
An extensive review of batteries under development for electric vehicles has been made. Many specific characteristics of all batteries are tabulated and, in most cases, projected values are shown for the fully developed battery. The characteristics given are those of energy, power, and cost, and how they relate to the size parameters of weight and volume. Attention should be given to optimising the power/energy ratio, as this can have a most profound effect on battery size and cost.
