Samenvatting

This paper considers the way in which information and test instructions are presented in the ART 2020 driver behaviour test system. The aim of improving the presentation was to decrease the amount of mental workload involved and thus to make the test procedure more fair for the users. Enhanced ergonomics and functionality were employed in the software design. The use of multimedia technology enabled an introductory film to be shown to clients as well as providing the basis for one of the decision and reaction behaviour tests. Evaluation by clients showed that they found the instruction film and accompanying speaker helpful in understanding the tests. Reality based testing was employed in the decision and reaction behaviour test. The use of the Windows operating system made administration more efficient and standardised.
