Samenvatting
This paper deals with Parking Management as one of the most important aspects of both the project 'Stadtinfoköln' and the entire urban traffic management in Cologne. As parking management is regarded as one of the most effective strategies to control and influence car use in city centres, it is used and enhanced for many years in Cologne. The R&D-project 'Stadtinfoköln' enabled the development and test of new approaches like 'information, actual occupation and forecasts for on-street parking' or 'reservation and electronic payment of parking spaces from the car'. The paper describes both the technical solutions for parking management as well as the results of different assessments performed on behalf of the city of Cologne.
