Samenvatting

The application of a heuristic arrangement technique known as CORELAP (Computerized Relationship Layout Planning) to the layout of land use activities in a new town is described. The objective was to find that layout which maximizes desired interactions between land uses, or in other words, reduces the need for undesirable travel. The emphasis is on trips made by pedestrians.
