Samenvatting

Two basic approaches which seem to be promising to improve safety are presented. The human being has to been seen as a whole, and all varieties of road safety education, no matter whether it is related mainly to children or to drivers, or to elderly road users, pedestrians, etc., have the unthanked task of adapting man to a ready- made environment and, at the same time, is supposed to compensate for the errors committed by other disciplines, e.g., engineering.
