Nibbling : the force and moment behaviour of tyres over edges. Paper Presented at the International Rubber Conference, Brighton, May 1972.

The nibbling process occurs when a tyre encounters a road seam running approximately parallel to the direction of vehicle travel. The quantitative results plus waveform analysis indicate that a vehicle riding on radial tyres is more easily and predictably corrected than a vehicle riding on either bias or belted-bias tyres.
