Samenvatting
The extent of road traffic is too much for the bearing capacity of the environment. Even if all available technical measures are taken to make the cars more clean and more silent, the burden for the environment remains too much. Conclusions are given for a policy of the volume of road traffic and public transport. The construction of more new roads should be stopped. In stead of the 5 car tunnels planned in Amsterdam and Rotterdam tunnels for rapid trams should be constructed.
