Samenvatting

The Multifunctional Human Machine Interface (HMI) is supposed to bridge the gap between head-up displays and future virtual projection screens. It consists of a light emitting diode (LED) matrix, which is applied beneath the windshield. In a first laboratory study this concept was compared witha Head-Up Display to evaluate the design of the HMI. The results show similar detection rates for a Night Vision application and give valuable advice for further development of this approach.
