Samenvatting

Many parents have difficulty selecting appropriate restraints for their children on the basis of height and weight, as they often do not know these data. In this study, we evaluated an alternative selection method: shoulder height labelling. Child restraints were modified to include shoulder height labels indicating the minimum and maximum shoulder heights for which the restraint is suitable. This study suggests that shoulder height labels are a promising method for indicating child restraint suitability, which does not require knowledge of height or weight, but requires broader testing. Such labels may be suitable for use in conjunction with age-based recommendations. (a) For the covering entry of this conference, please see ITRD abstract no. E218699.
