Samenvatting

In this paper an extended analytical model for the dynamic network equilibrium problem is proposed, when the limited capacity of the arcs and queue spill back phenomena are considered. In order to model capacity effects in an urban traffic network, it is necessary to consider explicitly the capacity of links. These capacities impact on the conditions of the network when it is congested and their introduction in a temporal network model makes it more realistic. In the proposed model the limits of capacity of storage of volumes entering and exiting over the arcs are considered. If the capacities are reached, queues are formed and spill back phenomena result. Given a temporal demand, the problem is posed by the way that the demand is assigned to transport network. The model is divided into two parts: the first represents within day effects, the way the demand is loaded on network at each time, when a departure path flow rate is established. This is referred to as the dynamic network loading problem. The second part represents the day to day effects, where the users have a knowledge of the network and they modify their path choice to perceived "better" paths.
