At the Highway Engineering Department of Gdansk Technical University behavioural techniques in safety research have been undertaken. One of them is in-car observation of driving behaviour (manoeuvres, braking, steering, speed, pulse rate) and road-traffic conditions. Behavioural data is used in close association with accident data in order to estimate accident risk caused by geometric and environment features. In the paper the data collection system, methodological problems and preliminary results are presented.
