Samenvatting
No attempt has been made in this series of papers to evaluate the role of passive protection devices. While health promotion strategists should encourage engineering/manufacturing/environmental changes such as passive restraint technology, it will take some time before all cars are equipped with the new technology. Therefore, the continued use of manual belts and child safety seats will still be necessary. Even with full implementation of passive restraints, safety belt and child safety seat use is recommended for maximum protection.
