Samenvatting
Crash survival research needs in the areas of injury criteria, anthropometric dummies, barrier test performance, restraint systems, and structural integrity are briefly discussed. The differences between passing an engineering test and achieving occupant protection in accidents are pointed out. It is concluded that an understanding of safety needs can only be achieved through a greater knowledge of real world crashes; that is, more than better accident data.
