Samenvatting

The current situation in Canada vis a vis occupant restraint use is reviewed as are the various educational and legal measures that have been implemented over the years to bring us here. A multi-year cooperative strategy involving federal and provincial governments as well as the vehicle manufacturing and insurance industries, the medical and educational professions of non-governmental safety organizations is proposed to promote the use of restraints by at least 90% of children and adults.
