This paper addresses the older driver and the importance of driving to the elderly. It covers traffic safety and discusses the aging process and its relationship to older drivers. It also includes sections on environmental barriers to safe driving, reducing risks for older drivers (improving older driver assessment and older driver training courses), improving motor vehicles to enhance their safety for older drivers, and improving the driving environment (better road design and traffic signs).
