More and more underpasses have been constructed or are in the planning stage. The authors report on a survey carried out in an underpass for slow traffic in The Hague; they also drew up an inventory of another 25 underpasses in the West of the country. They discuss aspects of security, actual situation and alignment, accessibility, interior design and maintenance. A check list is given covering major an minor points of attention.
