The city of Utrecht has made a study into the safety of women on the roads.Interviews were held to classify the situations and locations in which women feel not safe. Public provisions which are often used in the evenings like railway stations, hospitals and parking provisions should be connected with dwellings. Social control on cycle tracks and footways, public lighting situations of tram and bus stops should be improved.Abundant vegetation should be removed.Surveillance in public transport is wanted.
