The following problem is stated : In how far contribute research in the field of physical (town and country)planning towards the national and local policy in this field. An exploration into the nature, magnitude, gaps,bottlenecks and efficiency of the research in the Netherlands into physical planning, including town planning,housing, traffic and transport, economic matters, social affairs, recreation, environment, landscape and agriculture, is presented.
