The results of a unique study into the noise emissions from trams are discussed. The aim of the investigation was to compare the noise levels emitted from trams from Amsterdam, Rotterdam and the Hague when driven on the same stretch of track. The measurements were carried out over three consecutive nights at various locations in the Hague.
