Samenvatting
The municipality of Enschede has studies the effects on traffic safety of special cycle tracks beside the road. With the aid of video recording, radar measurement, parking study, an interview, traffic counts and an accident analysis was shown that the construction and/or improvement cycle provisions has hardly no influence on the cyclist behaviour. The provisions modify especially the behaviour of the car driver. The main change can be found if on a surface without such provisions a suggestion track or cycle track with an unbroken line is made.
