The Traffic & Transport Centre of Excellence (In Dutch: Kenniscentrum Verkeer & Vervoer (KcVV)) started on 1 January 1999. In the 'Startpakket onderzoeksprogramma KcVV' (November 1998), the basis for passenger transport (7 programmes) and goods transport (7 programmes) was laid within six themes. ITS-Nederland was asked to make a contribution to the passenger transport aspect of the Centre's research programme, namely to the following programmes for passenger transport: (i) system architecture information technology traffic and transport; (ii) travel information for customers; (iii) paying for mobility; (iv) passenger transport from door to door; (v) intelligent travelling; and (vi) infrastructure utilisation. The six programmes are worked out in this report. ITS-Nederland will not carry out the seventh programme. ITS-Nederland serves as the first point of departure for the programmes to be set up. This mainly involves activities that are regarded as being important by ITS-Nederland and the supporting parties (the members). In each programme, current and expected developments are dealt with and proposals are made for projects. These proposals are based on the input by parties of ITS-Nederland and the authors' findings during interviews with interested parties.
