Samenvatting
For projects aimed to improve the traffic safety it is important to know the costs of accidents. Countermeasures are however mostly aimed on groups of accidents with a certain characteristic, the so called target-groups, for which it is necessary to know the costs of accidents for the different target groups. At first an extensive literature report is made on traffic safety policy in different countries. Secondly it is shown that there are target groups for countermeasures in traffic from which the cost of accidents differ significantly from an average of calculated costs of accidents.
