Samenvatting
Present recommendations on the design of gradients for cyclists date back to the fourties and were based on rather subjective assumptions. Today's know-how on physiology and mechanics makes it possible to give a scientific base to design standards. As an example a table is given with all data of a 6 metre ramp using two different ways of detail.
