Samenvatting

One important task of the Dutch Steering Committee on Programming Transport and Infrastructure Research is to develop a progamme of strategic research into personal mobility. This report describes this research programme. Six research themes have been selected: (1) Travelling for fun: leisure and tourist travel; (2) Different people, different mobility; (3) The Netherlands without cities ?; (4) The "Electronic Superhighway" and mobility; (5) Travelling intelligently; and (6) "supercars": car acquisition and travel behaviour. A number of research projects have been identified and formulated for each of these themes. Each project has been described in terms of its background, objectives, stakeholders, stakeholders, success factors, required competencies, and costs and duration. Emphasis is placed on the behavioural aspects of travel. In total, 15 research projects have been formulated with a total cost of approximately 16 million Dutch guilders. Together, they cover most aspects of mobility. Social, cultural, demographic, spatial and technological dimensions of mobility behaviour are included in the research programme. (A)
