Samenvatting
In earlier times the town must be seen as a natural component of the functions of a region. After World War II the towns became a more selfish unit in the physical planning. The continuous growth of the towns, which have got a certain diversification, seems the phenomena growth and town so much bound together that the town can be considered as the region itself. The danger is that people are inclined to see urbanization as a self-propelling mechanical process.
