Samenvatting
Characteristics of the road network in rural areas are presented: length, vehicle categories, traffic safety and traffic concentration. It is shown that a details traffic survey for heavy transport eon rural highways is wanted. More study is needed into the influence of the land use, agricultural vehicles and the weekend on the number of equivalent axle loads on rural highways.
