Samenvatting

Optimisation and actualisation of policy instruments in mobility analysed from an environmental view. Environment is already included in management of mobility. It is often implicit and there’s a lack of concrete measures. In this study, a theoretical section looks at the effects of mobility on the environment, on which scale the problems occur and what the possible measures could be. Apart from the theoretical study, there have been 18 interviews with people from the governmental scale and people from the local scale. In the interviews the goal was to know what happens today at the topic of environment in mobility management and why it does or doesn’t happen. The interviews show that what happens on the topic of environment is meanly caused by problems of traffic-safety or traffic-livability. Instruments to measure the quantity of environmental pollution and the effectiveness of measures on local scale are needed. The mutual knowledge and cooperation between mobility and environment on the governmental and municipal scale could be better. Provide measure-instruments to the municipals, creating a central information point, a better link between the “samenwerkingsovereenkomst” of LNE and the plans of mobility are some tools that could improve the integration of environment in mobility management.
