Samenvatting
Different calculations for a model to find an optimal solution for traffic lights, and the criteria to be adopted, are described. The models according to Wätjen Brooks and Hillier were selected. Results are sometimes greatly varying, due to different parameters not taken into account. The first two models are based on the idea of continuous green cycles, the third one on minimization of delay times. Simulation models may be the answer for objective comparison.
