Optimizing the use of amber in traffic signals.

An investigation of various ways of using amber in traffic signals is conducted, in which the desirability of permanent changes throughout the traffic system is investigated by means of changes within a particular sub system is a section of major arterial road, and observations are made of traffic starting braking and stopping at consecutive signals along it. Systematic variation of amber usage prove to produce some alterations in patterns of driver behaviour which are given.
